The posting, as the company wrote it
Interfere is building the self-healing layer of the internet: software that detects broken product experiences, understands what caused them, and helps teams fix them before users notice.
Modern teams have logs, dashboards, traces, and session replay. They still find out about too many problems from their users. We exist to close that gap for engineers, PMs, designers, and founders who care how their product actually works in the real world.
The product surface is large. The category is still being defined. The people who join now will help shape how the company grows.
We've raised $5.1M from Y Combinator, Vercel Ventures, Hummingbird, Designer Fund, and others. We're in person in New York City.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're hiring a Technical Content Marketer to turn our engineering work, product developments, and customer problems into excellent technical content. You'll be our first dedicated content hire, with ownership over what we write, how we produce it, and how we get it in front of developers and engineering leaders.
This is a hands-on role. You'll spend your days learning the product, talking to engineers, researching technical topics, writing, editing, and publishing. You'll work directly with our Head of Strategy and Growth and technical team, with significant autonomy over topics and execution. We want someone who brings ideas, writes exceptionally well, and takes responsibility for producing useful work consistently.
Technical writing is the core of the role, with opportunities to contribute across social, website content, product launches, and SEO/GEO. The content and processes you build will shape how we invest in marketing, with room to take on more responsibility as Interfere grows.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Write technical content. Produce articles, tutorials, investigation walkthroughs, customer stories, and product explanations. Use Interfere yourself, work through examples, and validate technical claims before publishing.
- Turn engineering knowledge into published work. Interview engineers, review product developments, and understand customer investigations. Identify what's worth writing about, research the gaps, and produce strong drafts independently. Engineers will contribute expertise and review for accuracy; you'll own getting the work published without requiring substantial engineering time.
- Build a consistent publishing process. Propose topics, maintain a content calendar, manage drafts and technical reviews, and publish regularly. Keep existing content accurate as the product develops. Use AI and automation wherever they meaningfully improve the work.
- Distribute content and figure out what works. Understand where our audience discovers and discusses technical topics. Adapt your work into social posts, newsletters, and other formats, and get it in front of relevant developers and engineering leaders. Use search insights, engagement, and feedback to improve what we publish and contribute to our SEO/GEO efforts.
We expect you to bring strong writing, learn the product deeply, and take work from an initial idea through to publication and distribution.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who's already proven they can produce excellent technical content and is ready for more ownership.
- You're an excellent technical writer. You have published articles, tutorials, documentation, or other substantial work for developers. Your writing is clear, technically detailed, and useful. You know how to explain a complicated subject and make it worth reading.
- You're technically capable. You can read code and documentation, try unfamiliar tools, and hold credible conversations with engineers. You can develop enough understanding to write accurately without someone else supplying the explanation. Experience with developer tools, infrastructure, observability, or debugging is particularly relevant.
- You ask good questions and have editorial judgment. You can draw useful insights from a busy engineer, identify the story, and turn it into a draft that needs an accuracy check rather than a rewrite. You know what needs more research and what can be cut.
- You care about reaching the right audience. You think about who a piece is for, why they'd read it, and how they'll find it. Experience with content distribution, social, or SEO is useful. Strong technical writing is the priority.
- You figure things out and follow through. You can choose topics, manage reviews and deadlines, and maintain a consistent standard without a detailed brief for every piece. You're interested in building a better process as well as producing the next article.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Base salary: $110,000–$150,000 per year
- Equity compensation
- Direct exposure to leadership, engineering, customers, and the sales process
- Significant ownership over our technical content and publishing process
- Opportunity for career progression and increasing responsibility as Interfere grows
You'll be joining early, doing real work from day one, and helping build a content program that could become a major part of how Interfere grows.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
