About CORTO
We are CORTO, a cutting-edge software company dedicated to revolutionising the legal industry. Our mission is to empower legal practitioners with AI-driven solutions that streamline their workflow, boost productivity, and provide more efficient client service.
Our team of AI experts and engineers collaborate to develop intelligent software tailored to the unique needs of lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants. Our innovative AI solutions automate routine tasks, simplify document management, and enhance decision-making, allowing legal professionals to focus on what they do best—providing expert legal counsel.
We’re rapidly scaling from 80 to 250+ employees, with a highly technical workforce where around 75% of the team are developers and engineers. Working alongside our Sydney-based team of passionate high achievers, you’ll join a fast-growing technology business where things rarely stay the same for long - and if you’re smart, caring, and ambitious, you’ll be in great company.
What you’ll do
You’ll be joining the Content Systems team, where we’re building the legal data backbone that powers our products across law firms and legal-adjacent industries.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to own the front end of the application, our in-house application our content designers use to build and maintain the legal templates and forms across multiple countries. It’s a mature, business-critical product with real users who rely on it every day, and there’s plenty to improve.
You’ll own UI features end to end, from understanding a request and designing the solution through to release, and you’ll shape how the application looks and behaves.
To make this happen you will
Design, build and maintain front-end features for LEAP Design, from UI design through to release
Turn designs and user feedback into intuitive, accessible, polished interfaces
Keep the UI fast and responsive with sound async and state management
Structure UI code with clear patterns (MVVM, component-based architecture) and reusable components
Lead technical design, review code and set standards for testing and maintainability
Identify and pay down technical debt in an established codebase
What you’ll bring
5+ years of professional software development, with a strong focus on front-end or UI engineering
Deep experience with at least one modern UI framework (Blazor, WPF, Win UI, .NET MAUI, WPF)
Strong programming skills in ,NET C#
Habit of writing the unit tests and clean, maintainable code
Clear written and verbal communication
Even better if you have
WPF and XAML with MVVM: a strong bonus
Telerik UI
Jira-based delivery, CI/CD pipelines for desktop apps
You are the type of person who
Thinks beyond the ticket. You dig into what users actually need and come up with the best solution, rather than just building what’s asked.
Enjoys the design side of engineering, mapping out the approach before writing the code.
Picks up new things quickly, whether that’s a complex product, a new domain like legal, or an unfamiliar framework.
Takes pride in clean, well-tested code and follows good engineering practice (design, code reviews, unit tests) without needing heavy process.
Is comfortable working in an established codebase and gets satisfaction from making it faster and better.
CORTO is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.
