SE3 LABS IS HIRING A SENIOR COMPUTER VISION ENGINEER - PERCEPTION
Join SE3 Labs as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer - Perception 🚀
Build the perception that enables SE3's autonomous systems to see and understand the world, testing your work on real missions.
ABOUT SE3
SE3 Labs specializes in developing spatial intelligence and autonomy software for unmanned systems. We leverage 3D computer vision, state estimation, and AI to help autonomous platforms perceive their surroundings, determine their location, and operate reliably, even when GPS and other sensors are compromised.
Our work today has significant applications in defense. As we grow to a team of over 100 people, you have the opportunity to shape our Perception team, expand your responsibilities, and contribute to our ongoing expansion.
Our founding team's research has garnered more than 90,000 citations, reflecting our deep expertise. You'll collaborate closely with founders and engineers experienced in computer vision and autonomous systems, translating research into field-ready solutions.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Perception Engineer, you'll develop core components of SE3's perception stack, including object detection, tracking, semantic segmentation, and depth estimation. Your work will be tested on recorded mission data and in field trials, with mentorship from perceived leads, founders, and autonomy engineers.
No prior career solely in computer vision? No problem! We value exceptional ability and a strong passion for the field above all.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
- Detection & Tracking: Build and enhance object detection and multi-object tracking systems for our autonomous platforms. 🚗
- Segmentation & Depth: Develop semantic segmentation and depth estimation for reliable scene understanding. 🌐
- Data & Training: Prepare datasets, train, compare models, and select approaches based on measured outcomes. 📊
- Evaluation & Replay: Extend evaluation tools to measure improvements on recorded data before deployment. 🔄
- Real-Time Deployment: Optimize models for onboard compute, ensuring real-time performance. ⚡
- Field Debugging: Analyze mission logs, reproduce failures, and resolve root causes for real-world robustness. 🔧
- Code Quality: Write clean, tested production code and review your teammates' work. 💻
