The posting, as the company wrote it
Join the team rewriting the rules in private markets.
Moonfare delivers what few others can: the highly sought-after funds and hidden-gem investments that go beyond what most private banks offer. Every opportunity is subjected to a ruthless vetting process; the bar is unforgivingly high. The result? Institutional-quality portfolios for investors who demand more.
Our team combines finance veterans with talent from tech, consulting, law and industries you’d never expect. Headquartered in Berlin, we operate from eight offices across Europe, the US and Asia.
If you're ready to build what's next in private markets, let's talk.
Fund Reporting Specialist
As Moonfare scales, we are looking for an experienced Fund Reporting Specialist to join our Fund Operations team in Berlin or Luxembourg. You’ll prepare and review the reports our investors rely on, check the figures that come in from fund administrators, and make sure every statement goes out accurate and on time. Your work starts once the fund administrators deliver their data and ends when the report reaches the investor. Day to day, you’ll work closely with Finance, Account Management and our external providers, and help the team find better ways of working as our investor base grows.
You will:
Prepare quarterly investor reports, capital account statements and ad hoc reporting across Moonfare’s fund vehicles, accurate and on time
Review and validate fund administrator outputs, including NAV calculations, capital call and distribution notices, and underlying fund performance data
Run quality checks on every report before it goes out to investors
When Account Management or Finance question a figure, you check it, explain the methodology and work with the fund administrator to resolve any discrepancy in the source data
Apply private market best practices and Moonfare’s internal valuation policies to the reports you prepare
Be a day-to-day contact for fund administrators, Finance, Legal, Investor Relations and audit counterparties on reporting deadlines and data questions
Contribute to cross-functional projects such as vendor migrations, platform changes and new fund launches
Help the team automate recurring production and reconciliation work, together with Engineering and Data
The next Moonfarian:
Experience: 4+ years in investment or fund reporting (for example at an asset manager, fund administrator, depositary or bank), including hands-on experience preparing and reviewing investor reports, capital account statements or NAV packs.
Excel proficiency: advanced Excel skills, financial modelling, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
Stakeholder management: experience working with fund administrators, auditors, Finance, Legal and IR, and keeping complex, deadline-driven processes on track
Project experience: experience contributing to cross-functional projects such as system or vendor migrations, process re-engineering, or new product/fund launches
Analytical rigour: strong analytical skills and high attention to detail; comfortable living in financial data and unlikely to let a discrepancy slide
Process-improvement mindset: a track record of spotting inefficiencies and helping the team fix them, including with automation and AI tooling, with human-in-the-loop checkpoints on regulated or investor-facing output
Bonus:
Strong technical grasp of private equity fund structures and accounting concepts, including capital account mechanics, waterfall and carried interest calculations, and standard performance metrics (IRR, MOIC, DPI)
Comfort with SQL or light scripting (e.g. Python) is a strong plus
Familiarity with HubSpot, Tableau, Jira and Confluence is a plus
If you feel you do not meet all of the requirements, we still encourage you to apply!
Please Note: We can only accept applications from those eligible to live and work in Luxembourg. This is a hybrid role with office attendance required 4 days/week. We do not accept applications sent by email. You should submit your application directly through our careers website.
Invest in yourself:
Ownership and Impact: you are empowered to bring ideas, make decisions, and see your work directly contribute to Moonfare's success.
Transparent Environment: we believe in open communication. You will receive regular updates on company strategy, performance against our KPIs, and key business decisions.
Personal Growth: we support your development with an individual growth budget of €1,500 or 2% of your base salary (whichever is higher).
Relax and Recharge: you start with 26 vacation days and receive one additional day for each year of tenure, up to a maximum of 30 days.
Daily Lunch: enjoy a free lunch every day in our Luxembourg office, using our Sodexo Vouchers
A Culture of Excellence: join a team of ambitious, smart, and committed professionals who are passionate about revolutionising private market investing.
